Foot Hurt?

Have you ramped up your miles to fast with  the coming of good weather?  It is such an easy thing to do with it being so cool in the morning to feel like you can go 3, 5, 6 miles further.  But that can lead to Plantar Fasciitis and painful running.  Take a minute to read the article and follow the preventive measures to ensure you get the most out of the Fall running season.

Redstone Arsenal Running Trails

Many of you have asked in the past about places to run on the arsenal. The main paved running trail is accessible from the NASA gym by heading east on Digney Rd. over to the Army side of the arsenal. There are some excellent, but difficult, dirt/gravel trails on Weeden and Madkin Mtns. For those who want to do speed work, the army has a track at the corner of Patton and Gray which was refurbished in the summer 2010.

2010 MSFC Running Club 5k

The MSFC Running Club 5k race will be held on 20 October 2010 at 9am at the MSFC Gym (bldg 4315).  Further details in the race application in the frame on the right.  For this year's race we are again having Fleet Feet Sports Huntsville provide race prizes for the top 3 male and female finishers as well as some cool door prizes.  Also, we listened to your comments/suggestions and will be providing male and female "cut" shirts.  So ladies, shirts that were made to accentuate your lovely figure!  The weather in late October normally is ideal for fast running and comfortable conditions so please make every effort to join us.
